The Bartini T-117, was a two-engined cargo aircraft prototype designed from Robert Ludvigovich Bartini in the USSR from 1944- 1948. ==Development== In 1944-48 Bartini devoted much effort to the development in the T-117 heavy transport aircraft. Work on the project started in 1944 when Bartini was working at the KB-29 as a detainee. Initally designated P-7, the aircraft was designed in a passenger and a cargo version. The wings, engine, main landing gear arrangement is similar to the Antonov An-26. The horizontal tail fin configuration is similar to that of the Lockheed Super Constellation. It was a high-wing monoplane with triple verticaltails and two Shvetsov ASh-73 18-cyilinder radials with a take-off rating of 2300hp. A peculiarety of the project was the fuselage of elliptical cross-section with the larger axis horizontal (the T-117 was the first Soviet wide-body aircraft). The basic assault transport version could carry a loud of up to 8000kg. The cargo hold could accommodate self-propelled guns, lorries, motorcycles, mottars, artillery pieces of up to 122mm caliber and other items loaded through a rear cargo hatch with detachable loading ramps. Because of the wide fuselage, it was possible in two rows two to transport GAZ-67 jeep next to each other. Alternatively. 80 troops could be carried on 4 lengthwise rows of seats. There were several passenger versions with different cabin layouts, affording the carriage of up to 50 passengers over a distance of 1600km at a cruising speed of 365km7h. Construction of a prototype started in 1946, but in 1948 the work was halted. This decision was because of the shortage of the ASh-7 engines which were needed for the Tupolev Tu-4 strategic bomber. The Tu-4 had at this time, on personal directive of Joseph Stalin, priority. There were several projects of the T-117 with other types of engines, including the ASh-82FN, the experimental ASh-2 four-row radial and the 4800hp Klimov VK2 turboprop, but this did not save the project. The only built T-117 never got any engines and was scrapped. The tasks for which the T-117 was designed in the military field was later adopted by the Antonov An-8. 抄文引用元・出典: フリー百科事典『 ウィキペディア(Wikipedia)』 ■ウィキペディアで「Bartini T-117」の詳細全文を読む スポンサード リンク
